Captain's Log

About Me

Brando, captain of Brando's Bounty Shop
The Captain Himself

I've been a reseller since high school, flipping stuff on eBay long before I had any business flipping stuff on eBay. Then college ended, I got a real job writing software, and the store went dark for the better part of a decade.

Then COVID hit, like it did for everybody. Stuck at home, I started digging through closets and found the whole archaeological record of my childhood: Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, a stack of old video games. That was the crack in the dam.

First swing was August 2022. Brando's Bounty Shop 1.0 was Yu-Gi-Oh only. It ran a few months, and every dollar of profit went straight into my wife's engagement ring. Mission accomplished. Shop closed.

Then a quiet year of selling Pokémon in person at shows, tables, and trades, actually learning what this stuff is worth instead of guessing.

August 2025 I said forget it and dove back into Whatnot to give the live thing a real shot. That's the version you're watching now.

Anyone can sell the newest set. I'd rather dig into the stuff that gets skipped, especially the e-Reader era (Expedition, Aquapolis, Skyridge, Sandstorm). Some of the best-looking cardboard Pokémon ever printed, and it barely gets any airtime. Not on this ship.

If you're new: come say hi in chat on the next show. If you've been around a while, you already know where the treasure page is.
